About me

My name is Catrin Cieslok and I'm an artist. My work is mainly painting but also drawing,making sculptures and some conceptionnel projects.

Painting is for me a mysterious, physical process, that consists to transform anorganic materiels, such as pigments or charcoil, into something totaly new. I would almost say something  spirituel, it's an alchemie.  Something, that comes from the hidden layers of the materiels and from the hidden parts of our soul and our conscience. The capacity to watch, to observe the environment, the shapes of things and the interaction of shadow and light are part of the process too.

There's no way to dominate this creatif process, and somehow I found it always difficult to talk about 'painting', because 'painting' starts there, where words are having no power anymore.
